The Rover Mini
The Rover Mini is a ground robot developed for use in academic and commercial development applications. I was responsible for the initial concept design, mechanical prototyping, and fabrication of the first prototypes. The Mini uses an innovative “node-based” drive design, with each wheel functioning entirely independently of the other three. This allows for precise, zero-turn capability. Combined with the power and low-cost of our micromobility derived hub motor design, we were able to prototype incredibly rapidly. At the height of our prototyping process, we were producing a fully functional new rev every two days.
